Sgt. Reckless BW 15.JPG

Sgt. Reckless, a 5,000 carved wooden sculpture, was delivered to Camp McClellan Horse Trails Sunday afternoon. The horse is named after Sgt. Reckless, one of the greatest four-legged war heroes that served in the Korean War. The carving was placed at the entrance of the horse trails. Lee Richards from Valley Head, Al. carved the statue. Here he is putting industrial strength adhesive between the two pieces. Photo by Bill Wilson

A new horse arrived at the Camp McClellan Horse Trails Sunday afternoon, but visitors won’t have to watch where they walk behind it.

Made of wood and weighing in at approximately 5,000 lbs., “Sgt. Reckless” is a carved statue on a concrete pad at the entrance to the horse trails.
