Lisa Davis: A bully pulpit

One thing happened on stage at this week’s Republican National Convention that I think we can all agree on: The bulldog was mighty cute.

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice brought his English bulldog, Babydog, on stage with him. Babydog is well-known in her home state, where she often accompanies the governor on official business. Babydog had to be hoisted into her chair, because, well, she’s a bulldog — big on heft, short on legs.
